Friends With Benefits PSA

Friends With Benefits PSA

Position: Script writer.

Worked with client to create a hilarious viral video that would push-out the the film, FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, by appealing to users of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to demand a “Friends With Benefits” relationship status.

The PSA has been a viral hit, amassing over 100,000 views on YouTube earning praise around the web. Here are some selected quotes about the feature.

The PSA is funny, and even has a “whoa, hello!” sexy-risque ending. So, it may be a gimmick — but it’s WORTH IT. Also, it makes me fall even more in love with these two as comedians and as an on-screen couple. Can you tell I’ll be seeing FWB when it comes out? (Ashton and Natalie who?)

– Maressa Brown, The Stir

First off, great idea, although I’m not entirely sure that Friends With Benefits is a kind of relationship people would openly share with others. My real question is how long until we have an actual “Weirdsies” status, based on the 30 Rock joke.

“Friends With Benefits” isn’t just a film. It’s a way of life… this very subtle video is here to get the ball rolling — urging you (yes, YOU!) to donate your Facebook status for the noble cause of no-strings-attached, strictly unromantic pelvis-bumping between friends.
